Located in Oregon and Idaho plz help just want a carpenter ant queen and not sure here to find one!!!

Walk along pavement after a rainstorm. Don't expect to find anything right away, but you will eventually. Even if it takes a year or two, but that is pretty unlucky, in my opinion. Most people find them in their first month or two of hunting. Also, they fly in June-August.
