Looking for a queen ant

Hi,

My first grade kid wants to have a colony and we are located in Northern Virginia. I 3d printed a nest and would like to start with a local queen ant that's pregnant (sorry not sure what the correct term is for ants, even though I'm a biologist :).

Anyone selling? Appreciate it!

This forum doesn't allow the selling or giving away of queen ants unless it's through the GAN project. The GAN project page says that there are 4 GAN farmers in Virginia. (It is illegal to transport queen ants across state lines, and bad for the ecosystem if the species aren't native to your area.)
"God made every kind of wild beasts and every kind of livestock and every kind of creeping things;" (including ants) "and God saw that it was good." Genesis 1:25
