In Trumbull County, Ohio. Looking to start an ant colony .My son is fascinated with carpenter ants. Any help would be appreciated.

I would suggest looking for queens 30 minutes after sunset. Most Camponotus queens have already made founding chambers and are beginning founding, but you may find yourself lucky. ;)

U could look for the massive 10 metre long ants that are exclusive to Ohio :lol:

I have good luck in the afternoons catching Camponotus penn. and novaeboracensis particularly like late may
