I know formica are flying right now 11mm queen smacked me in the face and I think it's also lasius sp. That just started today as they were much smaller but

Today is a very good day for queen hunting got a couple near the Vankleek-hill area.

Quite a few rain days coming ahead the last few rains didn't produce any queens. On side note Camponotus Novaeboracenis has taken over my town I see more of them then C. pennsylvanicus

Caught some Lasius muphyi queens this evening after the rain we had today. Extremely high humidity right now.

Wow Lasius murphyi is pretty uncommon except in a few speckles outside of ontario. Good find! Get any pictures of her?

It looks exactly the same as this, caught by me last year around the same time and same place.

Here is a shot of the probable L. murphyi caught around the same time again on my Driveway. The one caught tonight looks a bit more more like the first queen in this thread. They are quite similar though.
