Oh wow! Congrats wish i looked harder this morning and today. I did take a look only found a few new species of ant. But no males or queens. Glad to hear you found some. I'll be looking tonight at around 9p thanks for the update.

Post evening search. I think my problem is I'm limiting myself tho to 200 yrd stretch on my block and probably should extend my search area to increase my odds.
New York is supposed to get some rain Monday so Tuesday morning might be a good day to look as weather is warming up as well.

Well last night when I got to work I went outside and checked some area's and saw tons of tetramorium workers along with queens outside their nest. As the sun rose (approx. 4:30am to 6am) I walked around and saw more and more nests with tons of activity, no more queens around the nests, but there were males now around the nest, barely moving or dead. I patrolled around my large parking lot and the surrounding sidewalks and found no queens.
When I get off of work at 7am, I plan on taking a walk back in my neighborhood to look for some wingless queen.

No luck after an hour walk.
Very humid this morning due for 95 degree temps today high humidity and showers late afternoon and late evening. Try again tomorrow morning.

It was 7:30 in the morning. I went for a walk today, and found nothing.

Roughly 11:45pm I went out to check on the nests that had the new queens and workers around it last night. Only to find just a massing of workers. Might have been too early for the queens but I will check again shortly as we got some good rain today and it's a very warm and humid night. Today might be the most promised looking day in terms of weather and environmental cues. Hope I didn't just jynx myself haha.

This morning at 6am i decided to check the local yacht basin / park area as i was on my last 50 ft of sidewalk a wingless healthy queen caught my eye as it was making its way across the path. They are alot smaller looking without their wings and for a moment wasnt sure i had a queen because i thought it was too small. [Pictures online can throw you off] After trapping it and confirming it was a tetramorium queen i placed it in this setup as Im still waiting [weeks now] on my AntsCanada starter kit setup and tetramorium full kit to ship.
Extremely excited to say this is my first queen caught! Looking to catch one or two more tetramorium queens.
To include a lasius sp. queen and prenolepis imparis queen in the months to come.

Tons and tons of alates out late lastnight and early this morning! Today will be a great day/morning to find queens in Upstate NY!
Ive yet to see a nuptial flight this large and so wide spread this year! I found them on my home front and back porch, everywhere I walked, my work doors, on top of the my patrol car, inside the patrol car they are everywhere! Good luck everyone!
