you still there?

i too live in louisiana. my first queen walk was august 1st. i have had great success, but, they all seem to these amateurs eyes to be solenopsis. they look different enough i think i might have invicta, and xyloni at least, possibly more variety still. it is also likely i am just looking at basic color and shape morphs within a single species.

out of 25 spots i have picked up 8. i usuaslly see two at about 11am, i find the bulk when i walk at 2pm, and ill find only two again when i walk at four. that 25 is over three seperate walks.

when i see them we had as decent rain the day before, all but two have been found wingless. all of them in suburban sprawl milling around the edge of the sidewalk (with lots of cracks and disrepair)

hope this helps, and hope we can continue the louisiana sighting dialogue

Hi all, I’m very new to any keeping. I’ve been searching down here in Jacksonville, FL, but I’ve had 0 luck finding anything other than already existing FL Carpenter colonies. Most all of Jacksonville itself is super suburban, so I’m having a hard time even finding places to search. Pest control companies and their insecticides are in every neighborhood for miles, smh. It also rains every day T-T. Has anyone in northern FL/southern Georgia seen any fliers?

Jacksonville, FL Still haven't seen anything over here yet. Lots of fire ant activity and Camptonotus are coming out but no alates yet. If anyone in Florida sees anything please let me know!
