They are certainly flying. I just caught 2 Tetramorium queens on my walk.

Hello everyone. First post, been lurking around here for a little while; figured a would post if I ever found any queens. I'm disappointed I didn't find any P. Imparus, however, like many of you, I had lots of luck finding Tetramorium yesterday. I ended up with 11 total! They all seem quite happy, and around half of them began laying eggs last night! Take a look:

http://imgur.com/a/zWr5D (Btw, all these pics were taken with my cell phone camera, including the egg one. However, for the egg one, I used one of those cheap Vivitar clip-on macro lenses for phones. Makes a big difference, and I recommend getting one for like $6 if you plan on taking a lot of pics.)

Has anyone seen any Camponotus queens? I feel like I've missed them already. I've been searching rotten logs, but I keep getting driven off by mosquitoes before i can find anything.

Hey I've had too much luck and caught too many tetramorium, seems like that's all there is in Grand Junction until it finally rains and pogonomyrmex fly, that and camponatus have been what I've been wanting, I can't find Honeypots at all! but yeah just saying hi!

I found a Pogonomyrmex queen today!! :D I was pretty exited, she was really large and had excellent coloring but I already have a colony of them so let her be and just observed for a bit. :lol:
