Not yet. Last year Camponotus Pennsylvanicus flew on 05/28/18 here in Chicago. They should fly around the same time again so, be on the lookout for them.

The males start coming out around midday and take to the air with the females sometime in the afternoon.

CHECK STICKS AND LOGS EVERYONE, by cracking open two sticks, I found three Camponotus subbarbatus queens and one Camponotus nearcticus queen! The three subbarbatus has just dug their founding chambers, while the nearcticus was with five other workers (of whom I couldn’t catch :? ).
Camponotus subbarbatus x3
Temnothorax curvispinosus x1  :D
Aphenogaster fulva x1
Camponotus sp.
Termite pair

Caught a flight of camponotus pennsylvanicus on 6/6/19 after a rain. Caught 6queens from the flight after they landed. And could have had more but ran out of containers! Live in western Ky, Paducah to be exact. Good time to be out for camponotus.

Tetramorium immigrans flew here yesterday. If you missed them, you might still have a 2 day window to catch a couple more.

I caught 3 tetramorium with wings at around 7:45, is this too soon, or is this already after mating. None of them have taken of their wings, I caught them on Wednesday.
