You will see ants flying. You can know when humidity is 80+ and temp is 70+ at nightSlidingCool wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 9:57 pmI am new to ant keeping and I just need some regular info about Nuptial flights, how do they start? When do I know when ones happening?

Also, it usually happens on a cool evening just after a storm as the rain makes the surrounding moist for easy burrowing for the dealatesSolenopsisKeeper wrote: ↑Tue Apr 26, 2022 7:18 amYou will see ants flying. What time after the rainstorm? I wake up usually at 10-11 AM EST Is that enough time for the ants to still be having their flight and or trying to look for a burrow?

If you missed the flight, you can just try searching for newly dug holes on the ground as dealates will establish a claustral chamber when mated. This has worked out very well for me. I even raised a rock yesterday and staring at me was a queen with about 10 larvae already

Any time is fine. I found psedumyrmex yesterday(They do forage while founding though) mid-day. RIFA also fly during the day, and phedolie queens can be found mid day(Found one yesterday mid-day) although they fly in the morningSlidingCool wrote: ↑Fri Apr 29, 2022 11:03 pmWhat time after the rainstorm?
