Hey guys, :)

I'm new here and also new to this hobby and wanna start my own colony but I just need some info before starting one. So basically what i wanted to ask you guys is what specie is best for the startup and also about their nuptial flight schedule.

Hello friend! In my opinion, the best specie for beginner it is Lasius (niger, alienus, brunneus). These ant's are not whimsical in food and in keep

It's starting of winter here in my area though and they must be in hibernation state right now so I know I can not catch any queen within next 2 to 3 months. :P Can you please tell me about their Nuptial Flights Schedule around the year or what is their mating season so I could look for them and be better prepared for it when the time comes. Thanks once again.:)

To be honest I don't know when flights schedule for lasius in the Pakistan. In the northern part of Russia lasius niger\flavus\umbratus flights in the end august, in southern part of Russia lasius flight's in the july - august. Probably, in Pakistan lasius flight's in the spring - summer.
In any case to catch any the queen's, all the ant's is very interesting :D
