Question about nuptial flights
Is it possible that ants whose nuptial flights start at let's say august don't start flying until it's the middle of the month? I doubt they start at exactly the first day of the month

Re: Question about nuptial flights
It is the weather and season. So when it says August it means the weather that is in August. So lets say from where i live weather in August would be cool and rainy when these two conditions are there ants will fly
Ants I have-
camponotus compressus colony- the shadow warriors.
Pls just let me have a tetramorium colony

Alright, thanks, though I'm currently in a place where it rains very very rarely, there are a lot of crematogaster scutellarises here, is it possible that they may prefer drier weather?

So that would probably mean not too sunny or dry , not so windy and should be humid

Re: Question about nuptial flights
Ants would fly after rain because soil is wet and easy to dig. Dry soil is very hard to dig and will collapse on contact with anything. So i don't think soKristijanVelja wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 12:39 pmAlright, thanks, though I'm currently in a place where it rains very very rarely, there are a lot of crematogaster scutellarises here, is it possible that they may prefer drier weather?
