I have only found Lasius Niger queens too. I didn't mind as it's hopefully going to start my first colony.

I saw more queens today on the ground about 5.15pm. I didn't have anything to catch them in though. I should have caught more then join the GAN project.

We had are first national nuptial flight in the UK in late June which was just lasius Niger then another the other day which was lasius Niger and lasius flavus. All other spieceis will have their nuptial flights between now and late September.
NOTE: nuptial flights cannot be predicted day perfect all flight timetables are guesses based on previous years and the weather. If you see elates wondering about outside the nest a nuptial flight is lickley to occur within the next few days
