Oklahoma Nuptial Flight?

Hello,

I’m very new to having an ant colony. I do not have a colony YET however I believe this is a good opportunity for me because the year is just starting. I am wanting to do this as a hobby for me and my children to get involved with. Now to the question, as you read I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma and from I have read and seen some ant species should be starting nuptial flight very soon like February. If anyone has more information please let me know. Also I think this weekend in would be a good weekend to go and search for my first queen. I say this because pretty much all week was wet and this weekend it’s suppose to get up to 70 degrees. That seems like ideal temps and conditions to start to mate. Again if any of you have any information please me know. Thank you for reading and hope to hear from you soon.
