Prenolepis imparis fly in March-April, usually. But I wouldn't exactly know how common they are in Iowa. Camponotus fly in June. Formica and Tetramorium fly in July. Certain species of Lasius fly in August, but most fly in September. Myrmica can be found in September and sometimes Octobor.IowaAntMan wrote: ↑Sun Aug 26, 2018 6:07 pmLike the title says, im just looking for any information anyone mite have in relation to Nuptial flights, when they usually happen in Iowa, and what type of Ant species usually fly when. On the eastern side of Iowa in Dubuque we just had a great flight of camponotus pennsylvanicus. I spotted one in the kitchen buzzing around and went out and found dozens.

Dubuque is on the eastern side of Iowa along the Mississippi where the top tip of Illinois points to Iowa.
