Pognomyrmex sp. flew yesterday evening on August 4. Seems like this species checks the air before flight at around the same time every day, 6:30 pm. Might be a localized flight because of some sprinklers going off on the field the day before.

Hey fellow San Diegon here just starting out in the hobby! I've been hitting the coastal trails for a few weeks now but so far I've only caught a Male ant (better than nothing!) And am really just looking to make contact with fellow hobbyists in my area to share and learn information with. If you wouldnt mind having your brain picked a little let me know!

Hi SDBees, I'm still very new to ant keeping as well so I probably won't have anything new to offer you. It is cool that there are fellow San Diegan's on here. Let's keep each other updated on the ant's going on's in San Diego.

San Diego here as well. Just getting into this. Got an aquarium I'm gonna convert. Nice to finally see I'm not the only interested person in this area. I'll keep my eyes out and let you all know what I see. Obviously the same would be much appreciated.

Yeah, but they start flying in late May-July.
