Yeah there's really no way to tell if they are mated or not until their eggs hatch. You might've gotten some mated queens!

I haven't seen any queens yet sadly. And I only know of 4 different species directly where I live. Hoping to catch a Camponotus and Pogonomyrmex queen this year, wish there were more GAN farmers in Colorado too.

Hey guys! Just found a moving colony of black largish ants, they were polygenis and had a couple queens, will upload pics soon it was early in the morning so they were still cold and huddled together which I found interesting. They might be a lasius sp.?
