Very odd ant!
Ok so one of my original queens does the oddest damn thing with her brood! Every night she curls up with the brood and sleeps with them. I thought the first time it was just a one off thing but she now does it every night. Very interesting! In the pic she's at the top of the cotton curled up with them.

Ants do not sleep. I do not actually know their rest patterns but I think I recall it being 'Stop moving and rest for five minutes a few times a day.' That, or like zero rest ever. It may vary by species, I do not know.

Ok...... I'll say "rest", that way it makes all happy.Gregory2455 wrote:Ants do not sleep. I do not actually know their rest patterns but I think I recall it being 'Stop moving and rest for five minutes a few times a day.' That, or like zero rest ever. It may vary by species, I do not know.

I said something I felt would be interesting to know, I know what you are implying, and I do not get why. But besides that and back to the original topic, Solenopsis xyloni queens also like to sprawl out across their brood like this when doing nothing else in my personal experience.
