Very odd ant!

Ok so one of my original queens does the oddest damn thing with her brood! Every night she curls up with the brood and sleeps with them. I thought the first time it was just a one off thing but she now does it every night. Very interesting! In the pic she's at the top of the cotton curled up with them.

Ants do not sleep. I do not actually know their rest patterns but I think I recall it being 'Stop moving and rest for five minutes a few times a day.' That, or like zero rest ever. It may vary by species, I do not know.

I said something I felt would be interesting to know, I know what you are implying, and I do not get why. :? But besides that and back to the original topic, Solenopsis xyloni queens also like to sprawl out across their brood like this when doing nothing else in my personal experience.
