So I check on these guys last month and I'm sorry but I guess they escaped :? . there were no remains ore ants, I tore up the entire out-world for them, sorry i guess. Still if they wanted to get out that much they kind of deserve it.

the only ant's I've heard of people losing are queens who have pushed out the cotton from there tubes.(In my first year of ant keeping one of my Carpenter ant queens got out that way. still haven't told my parents about that one yet :? :lol: )

I would assume ant keepers with smaller ants (like your Tapinoma colony) and extremely large species would experience escapes more frequently (except for fire ants, if course).

Examples -small ants might be able to squeeze through the cotton

-I’ve heard of Camponotus queens chewing through cotton and escaping that way.

if you don't put the cotton on tightly enough they don't even need to chew it, they just are strong enough to push it.
