hello and here i am going to share the story of Cassy my crematogaster queen i just took her out of hibernation if you want mre information about my colonies look here http://forum.AntsCanada.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=5442

Cassy is currently in a test tube setup with another test tube covered in paper connected to it. her water reservoir is dry so i did this so she can drink. look how bloated her gaster is!

Ok so since your queen does not have any workers yet and is not semi-claustraul, she actually doesn’t even need a foraging area and doesn’t need to be fed. My Lasius alienus queens had dried up test tubes, so I connected another test tube setup to their current ones. Even if they don’t move over to the new test tube, I find that the humidity from the new test tube setup is enough to drift over to the queens in the old setup and provide them with moisture. What you do is you place the two test tubes so that the openings of the tubes are an extremely small distance from each other. Then you wrap it up with tape and poke holes through the tape so air can get in.

Then what is the thing with the test tube portal in your old journal with the toothpicks?

oh i took her out after realizing she would not move and that it was just stopping the humidity form coming over.

I can't tell if the eggs hatched into larvae because they are so small.

UPDATE
Cassy has decided to eat about half of her eggs but left like 6-10 larvae which just hatched (unless the eggs are hiding somewhere)

(sorry for no picture this time I don't want to disturb her.) ;)
