I could not have done any of this without AntsCanada tutorials, so first and foremost, thank you.
In every way I succeed is how I was taught, and in any ways I fail, I learn.
I have four (4) camponotus queens.
Two of them were caught with wings and broke their wings off in the tubes shortly after. One of these I've had since June 8th (1st of these 4) and has 5 eggs. The second that broke it's wings off (3rd of my 4) appears to be cleaning an egg.
My second was caught on June 8th, the third on June 11th and the fourth on June 12th.
The second and fourth were caught without wings, seem ok but no eggs.
I have posted in the identification section for specific species but the more opinions the better. Given I have at least two queens with eggs I will be selling at least one. They are all at minimum camponotus so will take some time.
I'm so glad I did it this way because I can't explain my joy at seeing those first wings come off. (What we know as a good sign.)

I am keeping a record of all my queens and where they go or end up.

These are all in the 2cm range. (18 mm to 23mm) They were all caught this week in Ottawa ON, Canada

Heya Criss, some good looking queens you have there. AntsCanada was a life saver for me to. Honestly I would have never thought about using a test tube until I saw the YouTube vid. Well glad to have you here and hopefully we can all learn something new from one another in the future.

Just posting an update on 5 of my queens. The first two camponotus were caught June 12th and the following two camponotus were caught the following week. The tetramorium was caught yesterday.

I'm mostly looking to see if any here look like nanatic pupae. Camponotus 2cm long caught about a month ago. Any further identification welcome as well.

All of the Camponotus queens pictured are Camponotus novaeboracensis. Congrats, I have 3 small colonies of this species myself.
