Hi guys!
This journal is about my biggest colony of Formica Cinerea with around 20 workers and 1 queen, who seems to have stopped laying for he season now :(
I got them this year with a nest i was given and they are great! They didnt seem to like the nest so i put them in a test tube and then placed that inside of an outworld which they seem to like.
A heat-mat has been placed under this :)
Fed them a mealworm today and a drop of honey which went down well!

Do you crush/cut the mealworm before giving it to them? Do you give it to them live?

Gotcha. What else do you feed Formica? I have a few Formica colonies and I'm trying to determine what best to feed them.

Flies, Caterpillars (Not rare ones though!), Crickets, Fruitflies, ham, practically anything!
And lots of honey
