I am very sorry, I went to put her in the tube and it is as I suspected. She died. I feel so bad and I dont know what I did wrong, they had access to water and honey or sugar water all the time and they should not need protein as the colony has no brood. I dont know what I did wrong. Sometimes keeping ants is so hard for me and it feels like everything is against me. I just cant keep them alive. My only consolation is that maybe I can catch an alate this spring and put her in there but considering how my luck goes I am not counting on it.

RIP. I can’t imagine people of l Niger who raise two queens, one fertile and one infertile, and the infertile kills the fertile after founding of the colony :l I don’t know why she would have died… did workers die also? Was the sugar water refreshed every 3-4 days?

I put in new cotton balls with sugar water like 2-3 days but they only lived the in the outworld for less than a week and the workers seem fine just crowding around the cotton ball I will refresh tomorrow. Thank you both for your support, I am looking forward to spring and summer when I can catch more queens and keep more now that I have test tubes.
