Fed more tandoori chicken. But they only drank the water i had added later to moisturize the chicken. I saw some ants trying to tear the chicken to bring it back home but idk why jeffs never come to help. That is the entire purpose of their existence isn't it?
This is relatable. My Floridanus colony has 20 majors now, around a 2:3 ratio of media to workers, but majors are shy. I presume this is due to the fact the colony invested so much in them(My first colonies major was one of about 20 in the batch and the rest were nantics), and my majors only show themselves when the colony is in “you die now mode”, usually when I touch their feeder, which has become like a god to them… majors are cowards(Except in RIFA or when they have lots of majors)

Edit:
Oh shoot, this journal is now 30 pages bc of me

They don't forage and have thicc repletes
No ants died which is great but probably jinxed myself :? A big healthy brood and cocoon pile in the corner of the main chamber looks promising for a big colony growth (still dont know if cocoon counts as brood). Also someone who has or had kept campos, how big should a colony be after a year? Do keep in mind that they hibernated for around 4 months

I have heard around 30-50 workers… not sure though. I keep Floridanus, but in my opinion, needs to be moved back to Formica(Was in there for ten years of discovery, and yes I know it doesn’t have physical characteristics) due to growth rate. My colony(Friend caring for it as now I have lots of work) but I have heard from him it is doing very well, coming upon 350 workers.

Oh ok, thanks. That means my colony is at pace with other campos but because the are smaller than other they should have a little more workers than they have right now. I will keep feeding them protien so before August they atleast have 70-80 workers so next year when they wake up from hibernation the colony has enough workers left to
Continue getting bigger

TODAY IS THEIR 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY🥳🥳
Today marks the day when i got my first ever queen. I really don't know how to celebrate as they won't eat anything. I will give them orange flavoured glucose drink which they really like and hopefully they enjoy it
