Now they are eating the dead worker! Why are they doing this

My Camponotus do this if the worker dies naturally… if I accidentally kill a worker they won’t. I use to have footage of it, but deleted for footage of two workers feeding each other. Camponotus Cannibals

Almost all the larvae got a cocoon except two. They don't look like they'll become jeffs so i guess by tomorrow they will also be in a cocoon. Alot of ants forage but i don't know what for. There is a water test tube, they are filled up on protein, they put poop on honey and oranges i give them.. guess ill try more sweets. Also it has been raining alot here but because of summer vacations im stuck at home and wont be able to get any queens. But on the other hand there have been alot of random insects flying which i can give to my colony

They want something? Maybe their nest isn’t watered the way they like it? Maybe the workers want to expand the nest entrance(Like in the wild during nuptial flights) but they can’t?

The nest has enough humidity, there are no alates so they won't wanna expand the nest entrance. I gave them a sugar water test tube but they only come out at night

Most of the workers are only 4-5 mm long, the same as nanitics. Though some workers are much bigger than that. All the cocoon are also 5 mm long.

Now there is a big family of sprintails in my nest. The queen laid more eggs but i dont have enough protien to feed them. I will have to give them more eggs more frequently

Big family of springtails means the queen has a big family of food sitting around…

My ants hunt down springtails, it’s crazy. They hunt them down, and spray them with Formic acid.
