I saw just one ant on the mesh  but it was having difficulty going down so i assumed it was very difficult to climb the barrier. I saw no other ants trying to climb after that. In the nest one worker was carrying another worker which i thought was dead, but when the worker put the other worker down, it started walking  i guess it was a new worker which was being put on the cocoon pile to take care of it. It was so funny to watch that
Maybe they're tandem running? If I can remember correctly, tandem running is when one worker follows another one because the older worker is bringging the younger one out for foragging. Probably because to 'teach' her how to forage, and if she doesn't want to come out the older one will carry her outside.

It wasnt the outworld, the ant just picked the other ant and dropped it off at the cocoon pile

It’s also a way of showing each other food. That’s how Odontomachus in my area forage, they hunt in pairs of one or two in large colonies.

There are some tiny white things on the queens thorax which i thought were mites. But actually they are just eggs  they have been on her since last night and nobody has cleaned her thorax.
Also it rained at like 6 am in the morning so i don't think any ant would be flying. The light method wont work in the day anyways so i just have to wait for night

They want a breath of fresh air I guess.

Same thing happens with my queens, eggs get stuck and stay there for a bit, usually on the bottom of her gaster. The only queens that this doesn’t happen with is the queens that pull the egg out themselves(Odontomachus)

Nice photos!

I haven’t caught any queens either, and it rains a heck of a ton with temps in the 90s and 100s
