Opisthopsis Update.
In the last few days i have noticed that the Opisthopsis colony had 8-9 pupae. Today and yesterday most it has been hatching. I have noticed a rise in activity in the outworld as they have unblocked themselves. I am planning to move them into a small Ytong nest as soon as i get a hold of some dry dirt.

Iridomyrmex bicknelli update.
The colony is about 30 workers+ strong and the Queen has been busy laying lots of eggs. I Recently "tried" to move them into a nest but they weren't big enough, so they moved into 1 of 3 places: under the nest, Into some cracks that the nest has on the exterior ( Ytong nest put directly into there outworld) or the hydration holes. I put a dark test tube in just in case they need to move back. I will probably keep them where ever they are so to not stress them.
2 x iridomyrmex sp Queen:15+ workers
2 x iridomyrmex pallidus: 40+ workers
1 x pheidole megacephala:2 queen 300 workers.
1 x opisthopsis Queen: 14 workers

Nuptial flight update.
after some heavy monsoonal rain. i put all house lights on and hoped that the Queens would come to me.
I caught 3 species i have not identified all 5mm and smaller. I hope :? that they are fully clustrial and mated. When i was putting a Queen away i saw it break off it's wings which was a cool sight to see.
No of Queens caught: 6

it's a good trick. But there is a higher chance that the Queens are infertile and they seem to hang onto there wings for longer.

Hi AusAnts,

Really cool to hear about your ant colonies :D

What kind of environment did you give your Strobe Ants?

Hopefully they are alive and doing well.
