I was looking outside a few weeks back and I found a Camponotus Novaeboracensis queen! :D Her red midsection is very aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It took here some time to settle in but now she has had her brood. :D Judging by how she is organizing them and caring for them I would say she is probably fertilized! Hooray!! I had also purchased the OmniNest Small, and am very impressed with the layout and the quality. I am really excited to move her and her offspring in. This is also my first colony however, so I hope I do everything correctly. :?: I will keep you all posted and get some pictures and such at later date.

Congrats on the new queen! They are my favourite Camponotus to keep and are super easy. They are easier to rear than Camponotus pennsylvanicus in my experience but are such great ants.

Good luck and looking forward to updates!
