Ants first emerge a very light tan color. I also recently bought some fruit flies and live mealworms. I'm hoping they like the mealworms. they have been raised on crickets. I let them have at two fruit flies. It was their first live catch. The fruit flies seemed a bit speedy for my ants though so I slightly crushed them so it would be easier. I also decided to get mealworms and fruit flies because I recently hatched baby praying mantises! AWWWW YEAH!! lol it sounds like I'm more excited about the praying mantises then my ants, but the thing is that the babies are this big! I'm fed not dissing our ant love by no means lol). They will go/molt rather quickly at first. I love mantids!so you can feed them ants?
