Ants are walking up so i decided to clean the outworld. They had put all the trash in the tubing so i put a screw driver and scooped out all the crap and cleaned it very well. Im still patiently waiting for their population to increase so i can shift them into the new nest

They are very active inside the nest but they never come outside exept when they have to die. I even gave them chicken and grapes but they didnt come out

Do they have repletes? They usually won't come out if there are a lot of them.

Every major and some worker are repletes who are FAT. But the thing is the food they have stored is what they collected before hibernation.

If they have enough food in their repletes they probaly won't come out until they run out.

I removed all their food as the repletes are so fat. I want to feed them lots of protein as the queen hasn't laid any eggs and they won't eat if they have huge repletes.
And this makes me realise that the first jeff is still alive???! I didn't see him die or his remains so he must be alive but how long do they live? I tracked back on the journal and saw he was enclosed on 27 October 2021! My dude has been alive for over a year and all he does is act as fridge bruh

Most Camponotus workers live for a few months and in most large Ponerine ants they can live up to a year. Maybe by staying in the nest acting as food storage prolonged Jeff's life as he didn't have to move around much and doesn't get stressed out as much.

Or maybe he did die but his remains are quickly desposed of or he got cannibalised.

I also thought that he would have died but all the other ants when they are to die, they go in the outworld and run as far away as possible. But i never saw any jeff come out ever. And i don't think he would have died inside the nest.
One more thing. As all the majors are repletes, would they die with full stomach? I assume thry would empty it out and then die but i never saw a skinny major either so jeff has to be still alive

Oh its raining so beautifully but i think its too early in the year so there won't be any alates flying and i have maths finals tomorrow everythings terrible aaaaaaaa
