Yeah, I pulled a couple colonies out a few days ago. I usually hibernate my ants for about three months.

Re: anyone
Do I need to wait to take her out until I see local ants running around? Or could I end it early?
Proverbs 6:6-8
Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.

when you do decide to take them out. take care and have extra test tube setups ready in case you have to rescue a queen or two.
because when you take tube setups out of the cold and into a warmer area. they tend to release some if not all the water into the dry chamber. i believe this is do to the pressure change when the water is rising in temperature.
i kept an eye on mine for the first few hours after, and had to change a few due to this happening. eventually i changed them all to new test tubes, so they had new fresh starts.

I took my Queen that I found July 2015 out Feb 8th, she has 6 workers and a small clutch of eggs. I fed them a termite yesterday and today most of it is gone.
