Transporting Ants
Hello, I am moving soon and need some advice on how to transport ants. I have a Camponotus pennsylvanicus queen and 5 workers. I will be driving to the next house.
Thank you in advance

I feel like these are questions that have to be asked, are you moving states or just homes?
What kind of setup / formicarium are they in?

Perhaps drive slowly :/
Add some toiletpaper or bubblewrap to take most of the impacts of the street. Like stressing the queen less. I assume the queen is still inside the testtube.

Doing some proper research is the best way to start an antcolony.

I like that do not touch sign. ^^
But yeah just polster everything nicely and take it slow while moving with the testtubes. It's much better for the queens to have it as cozy as possiblem without many disruptions or shakes.

Hmmm.... Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but technically it is illegal to transport queen ants across state lines, even if that species is present in the other state...Michaelc95 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 17, 2018 2:17 pmI live in New Jersey and I am moving an hour and a half away to Pennsylvania.
Proverbs 6:6-8
Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.
