How does ant poop work?

I heard about ant poop an how it can cause mold.
Is there any way I can prevent ants from pooping inside the nest?
And if they poop inside the nest what should I do?

If the ants poop inside the nest, you basicaly don't have what to do. However it is recomanded to clean the nest once at 7-8 months, maximum 1 year. If the ants are in an artificial setup they will likely settle a garbage area outside of the nest where they will probably poop to. If you have a natural setup, the ants will have inside a special room for poop and once that is full, they will seal it.
