Can I legally keep an non invasive species of ants in Europe?
I really want to keep a Opisthopsis colony but unfortunatly they live in Australia. Is there any way I could leagally keep a colony of these ants in Europe?

Perhaps in a museum for ants or a zoo but I don't think that you should keep an antcolony which is only available on a single continent or country. I also couldn't find much about them so it might be that there is actually not much to find on the internet yet that could help you with keeping them. :/
Doing some proper research is the best way to start an antcolony.

The country that I come from says that it is fine to import them, but Australia says I need a permit. But the hardest part will be finding a queen to buy.

Yeah I guess getting hold of one is the hardest part. you will also have to find a good way to import her like flying there to get it will be very expensiv anyway but this way you can take care of the queen anyway.

Australia has its own environmental laws. Make sure you and your seller would be following them. Many of the ant distributors in the EU have been caught smuggling at some point or another.
