Hi everybody,

I'm new on this forum and i can't find a kind of list of usefull tools for ant keeper's.

So maybe we can make it here and everyone could implement the list with their tooltips.

What do ant keeper's think about it ?

Best regards,

And what do ant keeper's think about that : https://www.buerkle.de/en/shop/_three-way-valves.html

It' as three way valves. You can connect tubes with that and you can close output. It woould be a great thing and very praticle when you need to attach an other nest or outworld to the setup. It will prevent from ant's ecape,

So ?

I have thought the same thing but with any type of valve you will have trapped ants and also there is no way to clear the valve of ants, especially if there if heavy traffic thrust it.

I'm thinking of building some red LED lights that have little stands and are flexible so they can be aimed at "anything" you want. Would run off of **** batteries. What do you think? Might make it in white and red LED versions also.

What do you mean about trapped ants ? You say when you switch the valve ?

Spoon and paint brush for cleaning the ants rubbish pile (usually in the out world)

Paint brush for applying fluon or escape proof barrier.

Barbecue skewers for pushing cotton into test tube setups or giving small drops of honey/sugar water

Test tubes/small containers for catching queens during nuptial flights.

Red acetate/ card to cover nests.
