Well, I checked on my C. Pennsylvanicus queen that I caught on 5/24/18 and was surprised to see what I saw. She had laid 13 eggs!
Camponotus don't usually lay this many eggs in my experience. But when I checked on the thermostat I saw it was 87 degrees F. So maybe that's what triggered the queen laying so many eggs. Will post picks next post.

Update:
The brood now mostly consists of cocoons. I’d estimate that there are 8-9 cocoons.
I need a new camera lol.

I love this. Hello camponotus family!
Single camponotus novaeboracenis queen
Either 7 or 8 eggs. (Since last checked July 2nd) can't wait for some growing! Currently in a small test tube will have to coax her into another one hopefully after the Nantics arrive for a bigger water reservoir.very calm and doesn't mind my intrusions much very relaxed.
Oops here's a pic

Update:
So I checked on her today and found that she had her first nanatic. It must have enclosed yesterday or something. I gave them a small drop of honey water, but the queen drank all of it immediately. I guess after all that hard work she was hungry.
Here’s the Queen preforming trophallaxis with her callow worker.
