as long as it is one mite i can see no way for it to reproduce. hopefully one mite is not a problem. also i would give her some lemon. if it gets bad. just not now because it could hurt the brood.

Yeah I'm not too worried at the moment as it appears to be just the one. I do worry about the chance of it being a pregnant mite but there's not too much I can do at this state. She doesn't seemed to stressed by it right now so I'm gonna take her cues.

Quick update

She's doing pretty good. Didn't see the mite but I wasn't looking too hard. Her eggs are all nice and opaque yellow and they seem to be getting ready for their next stage. Not gonna lie getting pretty excited.. everyday is like a thousand years when waiting for camponotus.

So true.😁

We are now at six worker ants now, almost seven. I will post pics when they reach ten.

I have a Camponotus pennsylvanicus queen that has 1 pupae that is about to eclose, 4 other pupae, and too many eggs and larvae to count! (I know that there are over 20 brood in total.)

My second C. pennsylvanicus queen has 5-6 medium larvae and a few eggs.

mid weekly update.

Changing the watering tube for the queen as it was pretty much empty showed me that I have 3 medium larva and a couple of smaller larva. Not many new eggs to report. Gave her a tiny bit of sugar water on Monday she seemed to enjoy it drank about half and left the rest. Needed a small energy boost but trying to keep her queen figure I guess. Pictures when the pupa come. Sorry if I had the larva on Monday I would been all up in there getting a shot.

On a side note been trying to learn more about macro shots and have been learning alot from a photography teacher I know. So hopefully the pictures will get better in quality.
