Formica rufa raising

Hello,

I found a Formica rufa queen a few days ago and read that you need to add pupae of another Formica species to raise her. But I was asking myself if I really do need to add another species of Formica or if I also can add some pupae of the same species (Formica rufa)? This would be a lot simpler as I can't seem to find any nests of other Formica species in my area. If this is not possible can you also explain me why?

Thank you in advance,

Using the same species is fine.
