Do Ants Need Sunlight to Survive?
I just received some pogonomyrmex from uncle Milton and I am wanting to keep their ant farm in a dark closet. I don't know if to ask this question specifically about pogos or ants in general. I will move their ant farm to a lighter room if it will help them live and dig longer.

I don't think light is necessary for the ants to live, but it does make them think they are in a more natural area and then they'll maybe respond more naturally on things they encounter.
I'm not sure of this all, cause I'm not an expert. So don't take this too seriously.

ants like the dark in their nests i would put paper and cardboard on the sides so light does not get in if you want to look just take it off. as for total darkness i would give them light, at least every once in a while
