I keep them. Other than the fact that the queens wont lay eggs until after hibernation, they are also very fast. or at least the workers are. Very active and interesting. Each colony is different as far as tastes in food.Will230145 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2017 11:20 amDoes anyone have any tips on keeping Lasius Neoniger, like food and personality.
Proverbs 6:6-8
Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.

I feel ya. one I found at my church and the other on a walk near my house. All were within boise/meridian/ garden city area. less common than Tetramorium, but they can be found. Once I even found a Camponotus!!!... but I lost it somewhere between the sidewalk and my room... hopefully not in my roomIdahoantguy wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2017 5:03 pmWhere have you found them?
