I know that Myrmica Rubra are a very polygynous specie of ant with up to hundreds of queens in one nest but is a single queen able to raise a colony. I ask this cuz I found a single myrmica queen (I believe it's Rubra). Also if I find another one will it be accepted into the colony.
Thanks

Re: Myrmica rubra
I'm not sure, but my 1 queen is doing fine. So i think they can found with one queen. but make sure the queen has food, because she is semi-claustral. thats why its better to have more than one queen, so they can hunt easier.

Do I wait till after the first eggs or fo I feed her straight away?

Typically a semi-claustral work best in a small container, with her test tube in it, to forage for food until first workers appear.
She needs protein for the larvae to eat. once a week is typical but depends on this specific species.
I will be adding this species to the wiki.
