Hibernation

So, from what I have gathered, to hibernate ants during winter you just stock them up on water and put them someplace with temperatures in the 40-50 degrees Fahrenheit? Just wanted to make sure that this was correct. Any other specific procedures for the hibernation of ants are welcome.
Thanks!

Yep. Hibernation length depends on area. Also make sure they are ready for hibernation and off a heat pad or cable for two weeks before hibernation.

You should probably slowly cool them down. Like maybe 5 degrees F. a day.
Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.

So could I just put them in my garage when the temperature outside starts to drop? That way the temperature will drop at a natural rate.

Ya, that should work.
