Queen with broken antennae
I have three polyrhachis vermiculosa queens and one has a perfectly working antennae but the other one is shorter and doesn't move. That queen is also the only one that strays away from the other two although they do not attack each other. However, they do sometimes go on top of each other (maybe to show superiority) and they like to go on top of the broken antennae queen more. The broken antennae happened before I put the queen in the test tube. Will she be ok?

Re: Queen with broken antennae
Ants need their antennae to smell, without them she can't smell food and she can't smell what the other ants are talking about, so she's like disabled. She might not be able to survive for long unless she learns a way of detecting food and water without her sense of smell or she learns another way to communicate with the other queens.
