Yes, it is very possible. Ants get big gasters before hibernation, and some people have to hibernate colonies as early as July, especially with C. Lignaperda who only lay so many eggs per year.
So that is why me C. penn. colony has stopped eating!
Do they have a lot of repletes?
No they only have 6 workers. Is Camponotus nocturnal? Maybe they are eating at night.
Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.

It's really bad that I can't send pictures here in the year 2022. Wanted to show the picture of the queen clinging to the water cotton ball and not moving very much. She's always clinged sideways

You can link a photo on google photos, or another photo sharing website. :)

Some are. The pennsylvanicus i fostered would come out in day sometimes. Try fruit flies alive, see if they disapear overnight.

She probably has not laid more eggs because camponotus lay eggs in batches. I have also noticed my camponotus colonies have a lot less activity so maybe their hibernating.
C. Novaeboracensis (my favorite ant
C. Pennsylvannicus x2
Tetramorium Immigrans x2

They get large repletes right before hibernation
