This is the link to a, let's say beta version of a nest blueprint for my C. parius colony. I apologize for the mess, I later realized it got a bit crowded. The nest is 10 cm², with a 1 cm gap to make sure the nest is structurally stable and to firmly plug in the connectors. The diameter of the gap for the connectors will roughly be 1.3 cm, and the tunnels extending from them will be about 0.9 cm. Right now I'm unsure of how large the tunnels in the roundabout/tunnel connector will be, maybe 1 cm to allow the queen to travel with out much difficulty. The entrance to the queen's chamber should be about 0.5 cm, enough for her to fit through, but still as small as possible. I don't know if the queen prefers a big queen's chamber to allow her to sit comfortably with her brood and the workers to take care of them, but I made it big. I also added a sponge area so I can give them some nice hydration. And finally I have separated the nest into two versions, 1: curved version, and 2: the straight line version.
Keeping:

• Cataulacus granulatus x2
• Camponotus parius
• Odontomachus sp x4
• Pheidole prava x1
• Pseudoneoponera sp x1

Also if I make a journal in formiculture.com, is it better if I make one for every colony, or have one for all of them?

Do ants usually have a nuptial flight during or after rain, and if after then how long after are they more likely to fly?

Nest seems a little bit, but I am sure they will grow into it.

I think one for all of them is typically a little cluttered. Some people like SYUTEO have kept theirs updated and in check, but if you only have one or two just make one for each.

Ants like to have flights after a 30 minute rain or a heavy rain, depending on species. What genus are you trying to catch?

Well I will be happy with quite a few most of witch I know is in my area including Polyrhachis, Tetraponera rufonigra, and Asian weaver ants. But if I can find any, then I will be incredibly happy with Dinomyrmex, however I have come to accept that the probability of ever finding Dinomyrmex is incredibly low.

My colony is at 9 workers, and I see a VERY big larvae, bigger than any of the others I've seen. She's either going to start spinning her cocoon very very soon, or she'll decide to keep growing and I get my very first major. I'll be keeping an eye out for an XL cocoon, it would be so amazing to see a major so early on.

Have you started looking yet? You'll never know when you might find a locality of previously undiscovered D. gigas.
