Is this ant queen fertilized?
I caught this Carpenter Ant Queen with wings a few days ago it never laid eggs or took of its wings till now. I think the reason it wasn't laying eggs was because I kept checking on it to much. I caught this ant queen checking holes in a brick and then almost flew off before I caught it. when I placed it in a test tube setup it began trying to dig it's way out of the test tube by biting the cotton (Didn't work obviously) Is it fertilized?

Well, I caught a winged queen who would have never shed wings unless I put a male of the same colony with her. She is now physogastric with eggs.Mohammadmacapundag wrote: ↑Sun Jun 19, 2022 2:54 pmI caught this Carpenter Ant Queen with wings a few days ago it never laid eggs or took of its wings till now. Doesn’t look physogastric to me. Her laying eggs is a great sign though.
