I caught this Carpenter ant queen a few weeks ago and finally one of the eggs hatched (I still don't what is it called?) I need to know how long would it take for it to mature into a fully grown worker? I also covered it in red cellophane is it okey to expose it to light then?

A whole bunch of sites are saying 6-12 weeks from egg to worker however I don’t know for sure I am currently raising some camponotus myself and so far it has taken about 9 weeks for mine to go from egg to pupa (life cycle is, egg-larva-pupa-then adult). I would say it’s still best to keep her in a darker place and not disturb her but once a week as the red cellophane only affects some genera ants and not sure if camponotus is one of them. Hope that helps
➪ Ant Colonies
• Pogonomyrmex occidentalis colony
• 3 Camponotus Sansabeanus colonies
• Camponotus Vicinus
• 1 Formica Fusca
• 5 Liometopum apiculatum
• Pogonomyrmex Pima
• Pogonomyrmex Barbatus
• pheidole queen

Those are first instar larvae, takes 1-2 months depending on conditions

So how do I make it faster, and yes red cellophane did work but it took some time for them to get used to it.

The larva is in it's third instart larva state now and there more larva too. This it about day 43 since I caught this ant queen how long will it be until the nanatics come?

Most Camponotus take 30-60 day to get workers. Rapidly growing Camponotus are typically around 30 days.
