When the white is no longer visible, you should take action. If she has larvae, workers should arrive before it affects her too much.

Solenopsiskeeper, I have the same issue. I have a queen with larvae and the whole cotton is just about covered in mold now. What should I do? I’m nervous to leave them with the mold, but just as nervous to attempt a move. Thanks for your help!

I highly recommend attaching a new, clean tube ASAP. Don’t force her to move, but you could heat the new tube for a quicker move ;)
