My Camponotus Colony has 18 workers and 3 small majors. They are living in a Tar Heel Ants mini hearth. Do they need more room?
Can you post a picture on Imagur and link it? That would help, thanks!

Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.

It think either the sharing is off or the account you're using doesn't allow to share photos

I think this should be fine for now. Wait for enough ants that the water section gets completely covered with ants and then you would have to add another nest

My Camponotus colony now has about 19 workers, 3 small majors, about 20 pupae, 20 larva, and 20 eggs. And I have recently noticed that a few workers are trying to crawl under the plastic plates I put their food on. Does this mean they need more space or is this normal behavior?

Hi!
So if the situation is the same as how it was in the last photo I’m pretty sure they don’t need more space. That nest has plenty of space for them. Perhaps they are trying to get away from disturbances? If they are taking brood with them, then maybe the area has more moisture or is a better temperature?
I’m not sure, but I don’t think it should be a cause of concern quite yet.
