Is it okey to add random ant larvae to you colony at it founding stages?
I wonder if it's a good idea to add Fire ant larvae from wild colonies to my fire ant colony is that a good idea since it should mean my Queen should have workers faster and more help on taking care of the brood? Is is also okey to add random ant larvae to you ant colonies?

No! It will overload her, maybe even cause her to not make her or any workers past the founding stage. I will describe why.Mohammadmacapundag wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 10:30 amIs it okey to add random ant larvae to you colony at it founding stages?

1) you add larvae(pupae is best to add)
2) she gets larvae and the wild larvae pupate
3)Her larvae eat pupae and eggs Becuase teh queen spent her food on wild larvae
4) the queen the. Eats the larvae Becuase she is starving
5) she dies of starvation
Add pupae if anything, note this could bring in parasites

I personally don't add brood from foreign colonies mainly because of the parasite problem
keeping:
all my queens died
got a sugar ant colony started

Yes Becuase they had workers to forage, and it was a cocoon, that doesn’t require any food and minimum care.
