How to heat my ant colony if I don't have a heating pad.
I don't have a heating pad but I have a formica subsericea colony and I know they do better in warmer temperatures than in room temperature, so if I don't have a heating pad what is an alternative?

What if I can't get a heating pad or cord, what do I do in this case?

Most ants don’t require heat…. But….you can put them near a window…. It is often warmer their.

Anything else? The only reason I want to heat my colony is so they can get more workers when they come out of hibernation.

Ok… you could try using a blanket… it raises temp slightly for my Invicta queens.

Ok this will make a small “heating pad” but credits to link. Sock filled with uncooked rice microwaved for 1-2 minutes. You an also apparently do the same thing but with a ziploc bag according to wiki how.
